The fall semester has been a productive term for the Phi Phi Chapter filled with leadership development opportunities, philanthropy, social events and fall rush. The brothers returned to campus in late August determined to run a successful fall recruitment session. Led by Magister Tom Muse, the collective effort resulted in eight accepted bids from qualified upperclassmen.

A well-attended volleyball charity event was held in September on the house sand volleyball court raising $600 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Registered events were held at the chapter house celebrating Halloween and Homecoming. During these events the brotherhood was able to increase our campus visibility and welcome returning alumni, while also successfully managing the associated risk.

The chapter hosted the Sigma Chi Mid-Atlantic Province leadership workshop at Jon M. Huntsman Hall on November 2nd. Members of the Phi Phi Chapter attended along with visiting brothers representing the Kappa Chi Chapter (Villanova), and the Alpha Rho Chapter (Lehigh). Also in attendance were Mid-Atlantic Grand Praetor Josh Hartman (George Washington '04), Western VA Grand Praetor Mac McClure (William & Mary '75), and Villanova chapter advisor Chris Massari (Villanova '13). Grand Praetor Hartman then conducted Phi Phi's 2013-14 Strategic Visioning Journey on November 3rd with over 80% of our brothers present. Jon Greenawalt Sr. (Phi Phi '61) visited campus on November 16th and 17th coordinating his annual Phi Phi Leadership Development Program; twelve brothers were able to attend this engaging program.

Fall initiation occurred on November 24th as the chapter welcomed eight new members. Brothers Ross Fehnel '09 and Jake Hennessey '14 were instrumental in conducting a successful ceremony. The eight new signatures added to the Phi Phi Roll of Initiates are listed below.

Before the semester concludes, the brotherhood is looking forward to another registered event at the chapter house, our Sigma Christmas party and our annual Winter Semi Formal to be held on board the Moshulu at Penn's Landing. Returning from winter break in January, we are all excited for spring rush and the opportunity to share the values of Sigma Chi with another pledge class of underclassmen.
